Emilykaye Mitchelson was born and grew up in Oklahoma City. She feels blessed to have had the opportunity to be among the first classes of women to graduate from the previously all-male Phillips Exeter Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA, and her Juris Doctorate Degree from Columbia University School of Law, New York, NY.

A licensed attorney in OK, previously, Emilykaye served as a Municipal Judge for the City of OKC. She has served on various community and state boards and commissions, including Commissioner for the OKC Housing Authority, Commissioner for the OK State Dept. of Human Services, United Way Board of Directors, Leadership OKC Board of Directors, and Heritage Hall School Board of Trustees.
